About

Our mission is to spread awareness of the benefits of auricular (ear) acupressure, which has been used for thousands of years but is fairly unknown in the modern, western world. Through the use of ear seeds, we are helping others take control of their own health and wellness and making this ancient Chinese medicine practice more accessible to the modern world.

What are ear seeds and how do they work?

Ear seeds are the oldest healing modality you’ve probably never heard of. Rooted in the principles of Chinese medicine, ear seeds are an ancient acupressure tool that may support a broad spectrum of health concerns by way of aiding restful sleep, assisting emotional well-being, helping you to relax, and boosting focus, vitality, energy levels, tension, and digestive function.

They are a form of ear acupressure that has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. The seeds were traditionally from the flowering herb vaccaria, but our luxe, modern version uses gold or silver plated seeds that are attached to a clear adhesive sticker. So not only are they known for their healing benefits, but they look incredibly cute too!

TCM teaches that the ear is a microsystem of the whole body, where certain points on the ear correspond to different organs or body parts. Energy pathways (or ‘qi’ or vital life energy) pass through the ear and ear seeds stimulate specific points which send an abundant flow of energy to the related organ or area that needs attention. Think of it like reflexology, but for the ears instead of feet.

Ear seeds also create continual, gentle pressure on nerve impulses in the ear which send messages to the brain that certain organs or systems need support. The brain will then send signals and chemicals to the nervous system helping you relax, heal, or focus, as well as releasing endorphins into the bloodstream, naturally soothing tension and discomfort.

Meet our founder

Acu Seeds was founded by Giselle Boxer, who was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or M.E at the age of 26. When her GP told her that she would never recover from the condition, Giselle went on a personal healing journey using a holistic approach of diet, supplementation but most importantly Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Giselle believes that acupuncture, Chinese herbs and ear seeds played a huge role in reducing her symptoms. TCM has also been hugely beneficial for her during pregnancy and post-partum.

It is now her mission to share the benefits of ear acupressure with the world.
